UTaNRMP plans to utilize a portion of its funds to support placement of a professional and self-motivated Project Procurement Assistant (PPA) at the project coordination unit (PCU). The officer will be serving on a one year contract renewable annually for the period of the project subject to satisfactory annual assessment. Interested applicants should be Kenyan citizens and have capacity to work with minimum supervision to meet strict deadlines as well as working outside normal office working hours.
In September 2017, UTaNRMP advertised in the media, local public institutions and through Focal Development Area Committees (FDACs) for Common Interest Groups (CIGs) to apply for matching grants from the Project under the 4th Call for Proposals. The grants are meant to support the implementation of community based Income Generating Activities (IGAs). After proposals were submitted and a rigorous desk and field appraisal was conducted by an Independent Appraisal Agency (IAA), the first batch of successful proposals was funded in June 2018.

The 3rd call for proposals from Community Forest Associations (CFAs) and Water Resources User Associations (WRUAs) to be funded in the financial year 2019/2020 by UTaNRMP through the WSTF was published in year 2018 in the Standard and Star dailies. Consequently, 96 proposals were received (62 from WRUAs & 34 from CFAs). After the proposals appraisal by the Secretariat and the Project Review Committee (PRC) and subsequent no objection by IFAD; 44 project proposals qualified for funding in the financial year 2018/2019 and 13 CFAs proposals in the financial year 2019/2020.
