The deadline for submission was June 28th 2016. This is a list of prequalified firms for the various categories.

  • Description:

    The Government of Kenya has received financial assistance from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Spanish Trust Fund towards financing an eight year (2012-2020) Upper Tana Natural Resources Management Project.  The goal of the project is to contribute to rural poverty reduction in the Upper Tana River Catchment through increased sustainable food production and incomes and sustainable management of natural resources for provision of environmental services. The Project Lead Agency is the Ministry of Water and Irrigation Services.  The project area covers six counties namely: Embu, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Nyeri, Kirinyaga and Murang’a. The area includes Mount Kenya and Aberdare National Park.

    The Project wishes to invite eligible and qualified firms including those owned by Youth, Women and Persons with Disability (YWPD) to submit sealed applications for purposes of pre-qualifying suppliers of goods, works and Consultancy Services for the period 2016 – 2017 under the categories listed below.

  • Description:

    Reporting to the Project Procurement Officer, the Project Procurement Assistant will handle a variety of tasks that include: assisting in procurement, preparation of procurement plans, market survey and research; disposal of stores and equipment in accordance with laid down regulations and procedures; and preparation of periodic and annual Supply Chain Management reports’ returns and any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.   • Description:

    The project plans to utilize a portion of the funds to support placement of a professional and self-motivated Project Procurement Assistant to work at the Project Coordination Unit based in Embu County.  The Successful candidate will be serving on one year contract renewable annually for the period of the project subject to satisfactory annual assessment.  The candidate must be a Kenyan citizen, aged between 25 and 50 years, should have a valid certificate of good conduct, should be able to work with minimum supervision, willing and able to work beyond normal office working hours. The project also advertised in the media and local public institutions for WUAs/CBOs to apply for grants from Project to support the implementation of community Civil works activities.

    The Common Interest Groups (CIGs), WUAs and CBOs submitted proposals to the project and after a rigorous desk and field appraisal, some groups qualified for the award of the grants. The list indicates successful groups and the amounts of funding awarded to each groups.

  • Description:

    This advert is for UTaNRMP's first call for proposals for community projects' civil works. It appeared in the Daily Nation and The Standard Newspapers of Mon 12th Oct 2015 and Tue 13th Oct 2015.

    Community groups requesting for assistance from Upper Tana Natural Resources under the water resources management sub-component should include:-

    a) Community water development. These activities are:-

    i. Development/rehabilitation of rainwater harvesting and storage including water pans and dams;

    ii. Roof water harvesting demonstration for public institutions (e.g schools, hospitals, dispensaries, health centres, youth polytechnics);

    iii. Rehabilitation/development of boreholes, shallow wells and springs,

    iv. Rehabilitation of (common) intakes /devises and community domestic water supply systems

    b) Water - Saving Irrigation technologies

    These activities include:-

    i. Upgrading of water conveyance systems and improvement of Water application systems in order to improve efficiencies.

    c) Remedial works at hot spots

    The activities include rehabilitation of road embankments; borrow pits, quarries, and denuded hilltops, and eroded riverbanks, wetlands, springs.

  • Description:

    This manual provides modalities, processes and procedures that will be applied for funding civil works projects proposed by Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and Water Users Associations (WUAs). The project has four windows of funding namely:

     (i) Matching grants at Water Services Trust Fund (WSTF) which supports WRUAs to implement activities geared towards conservation of natural resources and are activities of public good,

    (ii) Matching grants at Project Coordinating Team (PCT) which supports Common Interest Groups(CIGs) proposals and the activities are income generating activities which are for private good in nature,

    (iii) the Civil Works window which supports activities of both public and private good in nature and

    (iv) cross-cutting window which provides for procurement of equipment and capacity building of staff and community.
