The 4th call for proposals from Water Resources Users Associations (WRUAs) and Community Forest Associations (CFAs) was published in the year 2021 in the Standard and Star dailies. Consequently, the Water Sector Trust Fund (WSTF) received 69 proposals (41No. WRUAs & 28 No. CFAs). After the proposals appraisal by the Secretariat and the Project Review Committee (PRC) and no objection by IFAD; a total of 36 projects qualified for funding. Nineteen (19) of these are WRUAs and Seventeen (17) are CFAs.

UTaNRMP intends to undertake the Final Environmental and Social Audit of the project's activities. Towards accomplishing its objectives, the Upper Tana Catchment Natural Resources Management Project (UTaNRMP) now Requests for Expression of Interest (REOI) from qualified firms registered by the National Environment Management Authority in Kenya and with experience on Natural Resources based environmental and social Audits to undertake the Final Environmental and Social Audit of UTaNRMP activities.
